Assessment. Analysis. Action.

DesigNET’s powerful A3 benchmark-driven methodology provides managers of enterprise conferencing and collaboration services with the specific decision support information they need as they formulate strategies for performance improvement. Whether the targeted improvements are in Service Quality, Operational Efficiency, Business Impact, or any combination of these critical areas, DesigNET’s methodology delivers actionable recommendations backed up by solid, data-driven justification.

The benchmarking process includes the following:

  • Collection of data regarding usage, implementation, costs and quality of videoconferencing inside client environment.
  • Analysis of the data gathered to assess the performance levels being achieving with current videoconferencing installations, with specific focus on comparisons with a peer group of companies operating similarly sized networks.
  • Identification and prioritization of areas in which the client should focus its efforts to deliver higher quality and make videoconferencing more efficient and productive.
  • Creation of a plan of specific actions that the client can take to improve performance – based on the best practices of leading videoconferencing user organizations.
  • Recommendation of a set of realistic and achievable targets for future performance.

In the planning phase of the project, DesigNET works with the client to customize the benchmark process and to determine the areas of benchmarking that are of greatest interest. Meetings throughout the benchmark process are conducted via videoconferencing. Operational information (data) is gathered from actual conference records and cost information. Videoconferencing support staff provide information related to infrastructure, usage levels and quality of service. Interviews are conducted with videoconferencing support staff and key users.

DesigNET reviews and analyzes all the collected data. Usage, quality and cost data are used to determine basic operational metrics (examples include capacity utilization, cost per conference-hour, conference success rates, etc.). Benchmark results are delivered as a set of presentation slides, which the client will use to support new plans and proposals for the future of videoconferencing. DesigNET also delivers an in-person executive summary presentation to an audience chosen by the client.

The benchmark process typically takes 60 to 90 days to complete, depending on the time needed to gather data.
